In 2017, CTS was awarded the honorable task of managing and installing this educational exhibit to convey the mission of PEPFAR, progress to date, and acknowledge the contribution of both US State Department leadership as well as various global leaders toward that goal. Originally conceived as a compassionate effort to deliver lifesaving services in countries hardest hit by HIV/AIDS, PEPFAR is undertaking the challenge of controlling the pandemic. It is the iconic brand of U.S. government engagement in health, development, security, and diplomacy, unparalleled in its capacity to deliver clear, measurable, and transformative results and impact.
Designed as a portable and reconfigurable display, the 600 square foot exhibit features a touch screen interface timeline, monitors for video and social media content/upload, interactive ipad kiosks, a storage tower and various backlit graphics. These components allow for easy and cost effective changes and updates to content.
The exhibit made its debut at the at the Rayburn office building on Capitol Hill to commemorate World Aids Day 2017. Requiring an overnight set up crew of 12, the audience consisted of Embassy, Congressional and Senate dignitaries and included a video address by President Barack Obama and four large red ribbon Gobo projections.
A second event featuring the display was at the opening of The U.S. Diplomacy Center – a museum and education center at the U.S. Department of State currently under development. The new glass pavilion at the 21st Street entrance to the Department is the beginning of what will become a dynamic space fully open to the public with permanent and temporary exhibitions and education programs.
